Nostalgic

This evening I was watching Florence and the Machine at this years Hackney Weekend, she played 'You've Got The Love'...

You know when a song just takes you back to a moment in time, where the memory is so strong it kind of just takes over your brain for a minute. This song, well, the original version reminds me of finishing my first year of university, It reminds me of going back to halls after my final exam and drinking and dancing like a fool in order to avoid having to pack up my room. It also reminds me of the realisation that I had actually managed to do something that terrified me. I had successfully moved away from home to a strange city, made friends and loved it.

For months and months before moving away me and my best friend literally avoided talking about moving away to uni because of the sheer terror we both felt at the prospect of it. Any time someone tried to talk about it they were met with...

There are so many amazing memories from that first year away from home, hopefully I will share them on here... eventually. One of my favorites that is coming really soon is about the time I have been the most scared in my entire life. Even now it makes me smile and feel a little bit terrified all at the same time.

I wish I had a photo of us partying in halls to show you guys but it was before the time of Facebook and Myspace and I just am too lazy to look one out.

But don't think that means I don't love you guys loads!
Because I do!

Sorry this wasn't a funny/ embarrassing story... More of those are coming soon.

Love you,
Love Me.

DIY... ?

Heeeey.

Let me start this off by telling you that I am an expert at DIY. Let me also tell you that I am lying. I like to make things that are really easy to put together, if it requires a hammer I am immediately put off because that means I can ruin it. I managed to assemble an entire desk from Ikea single-handedly.

Ok it's a different colour to the one in the photo, but i'm lazy mmkay.
I also pretty much put a bookcase together... But I needed help with the hammering part and also the part where you have to fix it to the wall.

Anyway back in my student days...
TEQUILLA!!!! wooooo!! Love it!!! in My Photos by Sally Finerty

I lived in a house, that was a little bit scabby but fairly nice for a student house and in my room was the comfiest armchair you have ever sat in. The only problem being that when I had to write an essay I was sooo sleepy...

So being the studious person I was I went out to buy myself a bargain desk chair from Argos. I selected a friend to come help me carry it on the bus home. Turned out that was WAY too heavy anyway so we got a taxi. Lugged it up three, THREE flights of stairs to my room and out of breath and a little bit sweaty looked at this massive box as our first DIY challenge.

It was all going fine and dandy until we got to the last part. Which was the hydraulics that make the chair go up and down.

Me: Right it says once we have done this bit you can't take it off again. Are we 100% sure this is the right way.
Friend: Urrrrm I think so.
Me:How sure though, we need to be totally sure. I think it must be right, is it right?
Friend: Yeah, yep its right. I'm sure it is.
Me: Ok, here goes...

Then all of a sudden we were proudly looking at a semi fancy looking leather look chair with arms and a tilt action.

So I triumphantly sat down and leaned back expecting this...

and.... Nothing.
Eh.
Nope, nothing.
So I went to get off and guess what guys. The chair tilted, FORWARDS.

After about half an hour of freaking out and imagining myself having to roll this chair all the way through the city centre... we realised it was totally fixable. Haa!

I've Lost Me Mojo

Guys,

I have a thousand stories and little things I want to share. For some reason I just don't seem to be able to find the words. Is alcohol killing my brain slowly?
The thing I love about this whole thing is that I can see you guys clicking even when i'm not posting which just makes a little part of me think you are looking for new posts. I love that.

So you can probably tell I have started writing this without thinking enough about what I actually want to write. Firstly about Friday night. I promised I wouldn't blog about it but I can't resist a little mention...

Cayler, Me, Nicole and Faye. I really love how Cayler is pouting
we are all just smiling. haha.
Photo: One for the blog lol!
Do you feel famous now?

I feel weird singing this at you... Go back to back!!!
Wait, wait, wait waaait I need to be holding all three.
Ok go.
I'm going to say that none of you can have a go over me putting these on here because they are all on Facebook anyway!  There is also a video, Luckily for you I don't know how to steal that from Facebook so i'll just say this. I've lost me Mojo!

Other than that, yesterday I had my first full on lazy day since I started work. I forgot how boring they are. I even napped, NAPPED. I mean come on.

So today I got up to go shopping, I really needed some new shoes for work because the soles mine have become paper thin. I was a bit out of my depth i'm not gonna lie...
I really took this when I was shopping!
This is how I feel when I need to go shopping...

Bank Holiday and Alcohol

So this weekend has been a bit of a random one.

It turns out that getting a job is seriously bad for your health. You no longer have the excuse of .... But I have no money. Having left the pub after work on Friday I arrived home slightly... Buzzed and feeling like dancing! I knew it wasn't going to happen on Friday night so I got to work figuring out how to make it happen.

My go to dancing buddy was down in London for the weekend. Bing! I had an idea... A drunken phone call later it was planned. Night out in Newcastle on Saturday!

So the next day luckily I woke up hangover free (Thank God)  and got my stuff together, headed to the train station and I was off! On the worst train I have ever been on in my entire life. This was the amount of leg room I had.

Aside the group of teenagers who smelled like an exploded Lynx factory it wasn't too horrific. Anyway on to the fun parts...
  1. Vodka
  2. Sambucca
  3. Dancing
  4. Singing
  5. Tyler look a likes
  6. Deal or No Deal
  7. Stage Sneaking...
  8. The worst pizza ever in the world
  9. Burger Relish... So much burger relish
  10. This photo...
As usual I had intended to take millions of photos throughout the night to document it, when I checked my phone the following morning this was the only evidence that anything had occurred.   Sometime I promise to take copious photos but as soon as I have had a few drinks I just forget!

Parts that weren't so fun...
  1. The girl in the above photo stomping on my foot with her heel.
  2. The hangover... oh the humanity.

En route home I was still trying to come to terms with the fact that I was about to get off the train and go straight into the pub, I took this photo as I was walking there specifically so I could show you how I was feeling.
Although you can't see my face. The fact its grey
and I am wearing sunglasses should tell you a lot.
The pub was actually really fun, once I had managed to drink my first beer and stop shaking. I was catching up with a friend I haven't seen in forever and we had about three years of stuff to catch up on... Wanna see her? Course you do!

Source: Er Facebook?
On waking up this morning, I'm not gonna lie to you guys. I felt like hell. So I decided to combat this by making a lemon meringue pie (not really, my mum has been asking me to make one all week)... I kid you not I did make it.
Source: My fair hands.
Frigging delish it is too. So after my three day drinking crazyness I am slowly coming out of the coma that is - drunkenness, I went for a mooch down to the beach and the sea air seems to have brought me back to life... thank god!

Hope you had an amazing bank holiday weekend and were far healthier than me!

Work tomorrow....

Love you!
Love, me.
